SK8 Tutoring and EHCP support
25 Lorna Road, Cheadle Hulme, Stockport, SK8 5BJ
My name is Kate, and I have 20 years of experience working with children and families. I’m a qualified primary teacher, SENCO, and senior mental health leader offering personalised 1:1 and small group tuition. I specialise in supporting children with special educational needs and those who thrive with a nurturing, emotionally attuned approach to learning.
In May 2025, I stepped away from mainstream education to follow my passion for working with children who need something different—something gentler, more creative, and truly bespoke. That’s why I founded SK8 Tutoring: a unique, trauma-informed, neuroaffirming learning space that’s not more school.
As a qualified Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator, I use professional reports, EHCPs, and my deep understanding of sensory sensitivities to plan sessions that place each child’s needs and interests at the heart. My garden cabin, lovingly named The Front Room, is a calm, sensory-friendly space where I can support children through EOTAS packages.
I offer bespoke 1:1 English and maths tuition, as well as small group sessions tailored to emotional wellbeing and confidence-building. One of these is my Brave Hearts Club—an emotional support group for girls where we explore themes like self-advocacy, masking, and energy accounting through arts, crafts, and gentle conversation.
Each session is designed to meet both emotional and academic needs, blending therapeutic approaches with evidence-based frameworks. I’m kind, patient, and deeply committed to helping children re-engage with learning, rebuild confidence, and make meaningful progress—on their terms.
EHCP Support at SK8 Tutoring
Navigating the EHCP (Education, Health and Care Plan) process can feel overwhelming—especially when you’re already advocating for a child who’s struggling. I offer gentle, knowledgeable guidance to help parents write clear, compelling requests to the local authority, grounded in professional reports, expert advice, and a deep understanding of your child’s profile.
Whether you’re just starting out or need help refining your parental request, I’ll walk alongside you with kindness and clarity. Together, we’ll highlight the evidence, articulate your child’s strengths and challenges, and ensure their voice is heard.
I understand how daunting the system can be and I’m here to make it feel manageable, purposeful, and empowering. You don’t have to do this alone. With the right words, the right support, and the right plan, your child can access the education they deserve.
Book in a free 30-minute call to see how I can support you and your family.
