What is Reflexology?
Reflexology is a safe, gentle and effective natural therapy that can bring balance to the mind and body.
Reflexology is the technique of applying gentle pressure to reflex areas on the feet to encourage the body into a state of deep relaxation and stimulate the body’s own natural healing processes.
It is a therapy that can help boost the immune system, reduce stress levels and promotes general relaxation.
It is estimated that 75% of all illness is stress related. Reflexology helps reduce stress by creating deep relaxation and a sense of balance and well-being. During a reflexology treatment more than 7000 nerves in the feet are stimulated helping the body to return to its natural rhythms.
You do not need to have a condition to enjoy reflexology as it provides a wonderful way to de-stress, relax and unwind from our daily lives.
Potential benefits include
reduced stress and anxiety
release of tension
increased energy levels and an improved general sense of health and wellbeing.
What to expect
Reflexology is a very easy treatment to receive, you will only be asked to remove your shoes and socks.
The first treatment will involve discussing your full medical history and completing a brief lifestyle questionnaire with you and talking through your expectations and health goals. This information will allow Claire to create a bespoke treatment plan for you and this will be regularly updated and reviewed. A full reflexology treatment will then be carried out and after care advice will be given before you leave.
Reflexology is suitable for all ages, from newborn babies right through to those receiving end of life care.
Subsequent treatments will be planned with you and vary with each individual. Many of my clients start out on fortnightly treatments and then move on to a monthly maintenance treatment.
Please note that as your Reflexologist I cannot cure or diagnose your health conditions and reflexology should not be used as an alternative to seeking medical advice.
